Komatsu has introduced two new excavators that take performance and comfort to the next level, and they’re available now at Kirby-Smith Machinery.
The new PC220LC-12 and PC220LCi-12 are designed for residential and commercial contractors who expect more out of every shift. Both machines feature major upgrades in operator comfort, fuel efficiency, and lifting power, all within the reliable 21- to 24-ton class that has long been known for versatility.
Compared to the PC210LC-11, operators can expect:
-
A cab that’s 28% larger with 30% more legroom and 50% better visibility
-
Up to 20% more fuel efficiency from a new electro-hydraulic system
-
Up to 20% lower maintenance costs thanks to longer service intervals
-
Up to 7% higher lift capacity and 8% more digging force
The PC220LCi-12 also features Komatsu’s Intelligent Machine Control (IMC) 3.0, the latest evolution of automated machine guidance. With new 3D boundary control, operators can set customized work limits for height, depth, and boundaries to help reduce over-digging, avoid rework, and improve safety.
Inside the cab, comfort meets intelligence. A new operator ID system stores up to 50 profiles, a KomVision 360° camera provides a complete view of surroundings, and rollover-avoidance alerts help drive toward zero harm.
“These next-generation excavators are built for the ones who get it done every shift,” said Peter Robson, Komatsu Senior Director of Product and Service. “With the most advanced working environment we’ve ever created, these are excavators your operators will love to run.”
