KSM Hosts Pink-Belt ‘Diggin’ for a Cure’ Events in St. Louis and Kansas City

This September, Kirby-Smith Machinery hosted two special events that brought together the construction community for a shared cause.

The Pink-Belt “Diggin’ for a Cure” Tour made stops at our St. Louis branch on September 9 and Kansas City branch on September 11, uniting customers, partners, and employees to support breast-cancer awareness and research.

Bringing the Industry Together

The bright-pink Link-Belt 145X4 excavator, known as the Pink-Belt, visited Kirby-Smith Machinery’s St. Louis branch on September 9 and Kansas City on September 11. Each stop served as a Customer Appreciation Event that went beyond equipment, bringing together customers, operators, and partners to celebrate the people who keep this industry moving and to support a meaningful cause.

Guests enjoyed barbecue, giveaways, and a silent auction, with proceeds benefiting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. The events drew a strong turnout and solid participation from the local construction community, reflecting the shared commitment to supporting a cause that matters beyond the jobsite.

A Cause Bigger Than the Jobsite

The Pink-Belt Tour is part of Link-Belt’s nationwide effort to raise funds and awareness for breast cancer research. Since its start in 2012, the initiative has raised more than $1 million through community events, merchandise sales, and equipment auctions, all supporting the Susan G. Komen Foundation. Each year, the pink-wrapped Link-Belt 145X4 excavator travels to dealerships and jobsites across the country, turning heads and sparking conversations that remind people why awareness matters.

The current Pink-Belt machine will be auctioned at Con-Expo 2026, with proceeds once again donated to help fund continued research and support services.

For many who attended the events in St. Louis and Kansas City, the excavator carried a message that went far beyond equipment. It represented hope for those still fighting, strength for survivors, and remembrance for those lost — a visible reminder that the construction community stands together, both on and off the jobsite.

Thank You for Standing with Us

Kirby-Smith Machinery extends a sincere thank you to everyone who joined us in St. Louis and Kansas City, and to our partners at Link-Belt Excavators for bringing the Pink-Belt Tour to our branches. We’re proud to stand alongside so many customers, partners, and employees who believe in making a difference both on and off the jobsite.
