Kirby-Smith's David Baker Promoted to Senior Vice President

Oklahoma City, OK, December 9, 2015: Kirby-Smith is pleased to announce the promotion of David Baker to Senior Vice President and Oklahoma City Branch Manager.

The Senior Vice President is a highly visible position central to the profitability and sustained growth of Kirby-Smith Machinery, Inc. This role will balance corporate project management with strategic collaboration between the board of directors, executives, and company leaders. As Senior VP, Baker will also hold primary oversight regarding implementation of business systems, and manage the operations of the company’s IT Department. Baker will continue in his role to build strong relationships with manufacturing partners, and manage relationships with accredited technology technical schools.

As the Oklahoma City Branch Manager, Baker will be responsible to ensure the success of branch operations related to strategic planning, sales growth, customer service, and problem resolution. He will also be in charge of all facilities management for all Kirby-Smith locations.

David Baker has been with Kirby-Smith Machinery for over 22 years, having started in the industry at Brandeis Machinery in Kentucky. He came to work for KSMI as a General Service Manager, and later served as Branch Manager for Kirby-Smith Machinery’s Tulsa location. After successful stints in both roles, Baker was promoted to VP of Product Support, where he has successfully served the company for 15 years.

David is a devout family man with 4 children. He and his lovely wife, Harjati (Chin) have been married for 15 years. David has volunteered as Treasurer for the Asia Society of Oklahoma for the last 10 years. He is originally from Kentucky and received his degree in Business Administration and Management from the University of Kentucky.
